Aon Is Looking For An Assistant Vice President –
Data Forensics Solution Architect (Health/Risk/Productivity Data Analytics)

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Innovation team within Aon Hewitt.

Your Impact As An Assistant Vice President –
Data Forensics Solution Architect (Health/Risk/Productivity Data Analytics)

This is a virtual role allowing you to work from a home office, but will require occasional travel and visits to the nearest local office. This position falls under Aon’s Health & Benefits Consulting practice; however, our team infuses with many of the other high-visibility Aon business units, as well. Our lean team of individuals excel at assessing customers’ data-based needs (particularly non-standard projects), and ensuring customers (internal and external) receive a high value return. The team is a mix of data managers, reporting analysts, SAS/SQL/MS Office programming experts, statisticians, actuaries, information technologists, and custom solution architects. Our group delivers or supports a wide array of reporting tools, special projects, and methodology development to address the complex analytic needs of our data-driven clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deep understanding of health, productivity and risk data — including medical claims, prescription drug claims, eligibility, health risk questionnaires, disease/lifestyle management program participation, absenteeism, disability/WC, and other related data sets.
  • Streamline and standardize our core data forensics processes/products/methodologies, and help implement greater efficiencies across our data-based solutions.
  • Develop and implement solutions across the sub-teams that are part of our Data Forensics team.
  • Solution Architect will be challenged to design/develop more standardized ‘Data Alert’ concepts and ‘Analytic Spotlights’ by leveraging the universe of data at our fingertips. This will help to optimize our organization’s investment in data, and the individual will develop ‘toolkits’ and easily accessible ‘how to’ reference documents to help support client teams.
  • Work in collaboration with experts from the various other parts of the organization – cross-sell and integrate with the other data-driven parts of Aon (e.g., Aon Risk Solutions, Aon Hewitt Absence Management, Pharmacy practice, Actuarial teams, Aon Active Health Exchange, Communications, etc.).
  • Coordinate all aspects of data-driven projects – including the up-front sales process, the design/development aspects of the project, and be a part of the actual delivery of the final product to our clients (e.g., demo tools to client; participate in the data analysis/interpretation, etc.).
  • Leverage input from clinical / health improvement Subject Matter Experts, actuaries, health & productivity specialists, consulting technology organization, and our client-facing teams.

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience manipulating, interpreting and presenting findings from large sets of health related data (i.e. medical, Rx drug, behavioral health claims data; health risk assessment or biometrics screening data; health improvement / wellness program participation data (e.g., disease mgmt, case mgmt, condition mgmt, etc.); absence, disability, workers’ comp, and FML/LOA data; and/or psycho-social, attitudinal consumerism)
  • Experience using data warehouse decision support tools (Medstat/Thomson Reuters/Truven, Ingenix/Optum, Verisk Health, HDMS, Navigator MD, DHS, HCMS, HDMS, ProfSoft, etc.)
  • Experience with employer plan designs — medical, drug, behavioral health, lost time, etc.
  • People management experience with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Project management experience
  • Client-facing experience; Including the ability to provide input around strategic and tactical direction based on the accessible data
  • Participate in traditional sales assist processes
  • Operations management background
  • Building MS Excel or Access models/tools/processes; Advanced data manipulation experience
  • SAS programming experience
  • SQL/Oracle programming experience
  • Visual Basic programming experience
  • Experience with other business objects/intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, SAP, MicroStrategy, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant field or equivalent experience
