The Geospatial Analyst will advance the capabilities of the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) by providing data analysis and feature collection. The Geospatial Analyst will be responsible for generating intelligence products in the form of maps, datasets, reports, and presentation material. In general, the Geospatial Analyst works directly with the government to process and integrate multiple geographic datasets. NAVOCEANO is located at NASA’s Stennis Space Center and the work would be performed in NAVOCEANO’s facilities. This position is a temporary on call position. Anticipated work schedule is 2-3 days per week. The current project duration is 1 April 2017 – 16 June 2017.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with any:
GIS concepts, Geoprocessing

Python Scripting

Scientific Data Formats (GRIB, NetCDF)

Physical Oceanography concepts

Imagery analysis

Capability/Suitability Modeling (Map Algebra/Raster Math)

Self-motivated yet able to work well within a development team

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong additional consideration for experience with:
Mosaic Datasets

ArcGIS Model Builder

ArcGIS Server

ERDAS Imagine

RDBMS (Oracle/Postgres)

Required Skills

Experience with feature collection in ArcMap

Active TS/SCI clearance
