The Performance and Data Intelligence team is looking to add a Senior Business Analyst to support and enhance Blue Shield of California’s analytical and reporting capabilities.

The Analyst will work closely with all levels of the Customer Experience organization (and other internal departments) to help facilitate work groups, manage backlogs and develop action plans to drive analysis and implementation of both operational and innovative solutions that elevate our customer’s experience. The Analyst will have regular interactions with the Customer Experience leadership team and must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills to be successful. This will be demonstrated in one on one, small group or large group interactions on a daily basis.

This position will be responsible for creating key deliverables for leadership and project teams in the form of monthly business reviews, initiative prioritization forums, and other program or executive level meetings. The Business Analyst will be required to intake and synthesize significant amounts of information and data to present succinctly and articulately in both written and verbal mediums.

The successful candidate will be skilled in project analysis, requirements development, opportunity assessment, program management and/or have experience operating in a consultative capacity. Capability to organize, plan and prioritize personal workload will be a key enabler to success. The ability to think at a strategic level and conduct research to stay up to date with industry trends regarding customer experience is paramount.

This position will offer a great opportunity for a candidate to improve and build on existing analytical and program and project management skills. Exposure to senior leadership and cross functional experience with other parts of Blue Shield will be extensive. Additionally, the position has a large growth potential as the program matures and value is demonstrated.


A minimum of 3-5 years as a business analyst, program analyst or serving in a consultant role.

Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies.

Expert level PowerPoint and presentation creation skills a must.

Ability to create moderately complex excel documents.

Extensive experience in facilitating in various sizes of group settings.

Must have previous knowledge of generating, improving and disseminating complex reports and presentations.

Creation of business requirement documentation to support system or business processes.

Healthcare industry knowledge a plus.

Previous customer service experience not required but helpful.

End user management skills – good at managing productive user relationships.

Experience working on DMAIC and other LEAN projects from start to finish a plus.
